Everyone wants beautiful and strong hairs. Ayurveda, talks about looking after hairs according to an-individual dosha forms. Learn about which dosha is predominant in your hairs. By learning so, you can better look after your hairs, unlike before, using the right shampoo, oil and nourishment for your hairs. Dr. Vibhuti Rao, explains how you can understand which dosha is predominant your hairs.
According to Ayurveda, healthy hairs are a sign of healthy beauty and genetically transferred from the father side. Therefore, the quality of your hair very much depends on your genes, however, if we cannot simply let them go worse without proper care.

Hair is considered as bio-product of Asthi Dahatu( bone system). Therefore, Ayurveda emphasis that any issue related to bones also become a causative factor in hair related problems.

Hair is also connected with skin, sweat glands, and mind. Therefore, all these should be healthy to produce healthy hairs. Ayurveda talks about Prakriti- individual genetic personality, while explaining different type of hairs.

People, who are Vata personality (more airy and space element predominant), their hairs are naturally thin, dry, easily breakable and very rough. They have very less hair on their scalp. They cannot tolerate very cold water head bath. They generally do not like their hairs to be tied, they like open hairstyles. They are the people who are most likely to suffer from hair issues such as splitting of hairs, hair fall in patches-baldness, less growth of the hairs, no proper length of the hairs, dry hairs, and dandruff.

People with Pitta dosha dominant (fiery and watery element), their hairs are naturally of moderate thickness- not very thin or thick, with moderate length of the hairs, not very dry, scanty on scalp, and having a particular odor from the scalp. Their hairs are normally not black and could be brownish, copperish etc. They cannot tolerate very hot water head bath and complains of severe hair fall leading to complete baldness and premature graying of the hairs and dandruff with itching very commonly.

Kapha dosha predominant people (earth and watery element) naturally have very long, strong and black color hairs. Their hairs are thick, oily, sticky, and dense.
Think again which dosha is predominant in your hairs and choose the right care for your hairs. You can contact us for a detail Ayurveda assessment of your hairs and we can help you take care of your hairs in the right way with Ayurvedic therapies, diet and nourishment.
